Mayali Pass - Lost world

When you begin trekking for Mayali Pass from Guttu village and onwards - you will find the dwindling populations in villages in higher regions. People are rushing to cities making these Himalyan region more barren.

For the above reason Mayali Pass trek is the one where you get a mix of everything. Remote villages and their culture, difficult Mayali Pass to cross through, the dense Himalayan forests infested with Black Bears & Leopards and the pristine Himalayan peaks that stares at you like a Big Daddy. The trail is 85-90 km where you start from Ghuttu and end up in Gaurikund - the starting point for Kedarnath shrine trek.

You would need good quality trekking gears to accomplish Mayali Pass. At the pass you may need advanced mountaineering equipments like Crampons, Gaiter, Ice-axe to make through successfully. Carry dark eye shades to avoid White-out. Carry enough energy supplies as the hike upto Mayali Pass is strenuous. Mostly uphill climb would take you from 1800 meters to 5200 meters in 5 days. A gain of about 3500 meters.
